So, it is interesting what new people you can meet at a Starbucks (in my case, Store #06312, located at FM 407 & Morriss Rd, Flower Mound, TX). Today, I will tell you of two (2) new acquaintances I have made.
The first one (I don’t really want to use his name b/c I don’t have his permission!), to whom I will give the name “John”, has been a regular at this particular Starbucks location for at least the last few YEARS that I have frequented the place. He is probably a few years older than me, with a slight unshaven face and often wears a cap or covering. And, he is always surrounded by a group of teenagers/young people.
Now … BEFORE you think, “creepy”, let me relieve you by stating that THAT is NOT the situation (or at least, not from what he said and i can tell!). There are just several young people who look up to him as an adult with whom they can hang out at Starbucks. When I introduced myself to him (for the first time last night), he commented that he had actually met a majority of their parents!
Another person I’ve met recently (and, he’s a pastor and I’m pretty sure I can share his first name) is Jeff, who pastors at Faith Harvest Church in Argyle, TX. He leads a weekly teen (?) Bible study on Monday nights at this Starbucks. About 15-20 show up regularly to study.
Again, there are interesting new people to meet at Starbucks, besides the “new” (to me because I work during the times that other baristas work!) baristas I meet.
