I have some practical advice for those of us living in apartments.
I don’t know about the rest of you but, I don’t have the option of parking near my apartment (actually, it’s covered parking about 100-125 feet away!), so when it comes to getting my groceries from my vehicle to my apartment, it can become a real chore.
My mother helped me when she herself was having difficulty getting all of her groceries from her vehicle to her kitchen through the garage (my stepfather suffered a stroke about 3 years ago and sometimes isn’t able to help). She and I have found a few items that are helpful in both keeping the groceries in one place after getting them to the car from the store AND getting them to the apartment and kitchen.
At the Container Store, you can purchase an inexpensive steel four-wheeled shopping cart (SKU# 10016274) which can be folded up easily to stow in your vehicle between trips. Also, to keep my groceries from coming out of their plastic bags and scattering everywhere with every turn, I also bought at the Container Store a couple of white collapsible folding crates (SKU# 319200). These are easy to use and store in my vehicle as well.
I hope that these little tips help someone out there.
