This past weekend (June 11-13, 2010), I watched the television adaptation of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer called “Tom and Huck”, starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro.
As I watched the friendship expressed between Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, I wished that I could have a close friend like that, someone who wouldn’t mind hanging out all the time! I know, I know, many of you are believing that I’m desiring friendship to be “ultimate”! No, not really. I just remember when I had a friend that seemed like a full-time friendship, who (maybe he was as lonely as me!), even though it might not necessarily have been healthy for either of us, it was just nice to know that we were available for each other at the “drop of a hat”, to share the good and bad of our days and, if nothing else, someone to gripe and complain to, a shoulder to cry on (metaphorically speaking).
Alas, awaiting for the rely to my email concerning getting that counseling!
